Respect. We all want to get it, but are we willing to give it as well? Turn your classroom into one where respect matters and stop the "dissing," the one-upsmanship, and the jokes at another's expense. How can you help your students learn and model healthy interpersonal relationships? Respect Matters helps teachers integrate respect into the core curriculum through discussion points and activities. You'll spark group discussion and individual reflection while helping your students develop the values and civil behavior they need to succeed in life. Challenge your students to think about the impact of respecting cultural differences, laws and authority, others' opinions, oneself, and more.

This is a wonderful classroom resource that effectively conveys a very important lesson to students---respect truly is the foundation for all civil behavior. The real-life scenarios included in your book are ones that students can relate to and will certainly learn from as they discuss them with classmates and complete the engaging activities included with each unit. Respect Matters is certainly worthy of the Learning Magazine 2007 Teachers' Choice Award.
