As a Professor of Art Education and Fine Arts at York College, Dr. Willet Ryder spent over 30 years creating programs and curriculum activities which linked prospective teachers with children in inner-city schools. Now retired, he continues life as an art educator, artist, and illustrator. He wrote and illustrated two art education books, and two books in other fields. His art work resides in over 700 public and private collections.
